Our Kaupapa
Our Story
“Tauukiuki” is a play on the māori word ‘tāukiuki’ meaning ‘ancient’ or ‘longstanding’.
We design TAUUKIUKI to mean to advance, to think as though we are the ancients, and to plan 100 years ahead. We honor the timeless wisdom of our ancestors. Our knowledge, resilient through colonization, is not new but (k)new—intergenerationally shared and safeguarded.
Today, we stand at a pivotal moment, with indigeneity leading the path in social change. Our journey is a homage to these enduring insights, ensuring they remain vibrant and central in modern times.
